We have an Adult Sunday School class at 8:45 am. The class is usually working on a book study that can be anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks long. Please contact the church office for information on the current and/or upcoming study. Newcomers are always welcome!
The Care Group coordinators schedule All Church Events, also called A.C.E. Events, 5-6 times per year. They consist of a meal, fellowship and entertainment. It's always a good time! Call the church office to find out details of our next event!
The Care Groups are groups of 16 to 18 congregants whose purpose is to get to know one another and help keep the lines of communication open within the church. Leaders are assigned to each group as a ‘Point of Contact’ for their group. The Care Group Leaders responsibilities are communicating regularly with their group's members, supporting each other when there is a need (such as a health problem, surgery, etc.), being a friend, and welcoming new members to the group. Care Groups are free to have social events within their group, but are also encouraged to attend our All Church Events held several times per year. If you are new to the church, and want to be part of a Care Group, please contact the church office.
On the grounds is a Memorial Garden with niches for urns containing ashes of the deceased. Only church members, former members of HUMC, or authorized members of the immediate family (spouse, natural or adopted children), or exceptions as voted by the committee, may be inurned in the Columbarium. However, anyone may have a plaque on the Memorial Walls. The Columbarium is located in the wooded area behind the church. Contact the church office for more information.
We have a team of volunteers who keep in touch with members who are home-bound, hospitalized, have suffered the loss of a loved one, or other catastrophic event through phone calls, cards, one-on-one visits, and/or outings.
We will host multiple church-wide Fellowship Events throughout the year such as Easter Continental Breakfast, Veteran’s Day Celebration, Christmas Luncheon, Summer Picnic, etc. A team of HUMC volunteers work together to plan each event, set-up, decorate, serve, and clean-up to ensure each event is successful.
