We have an Adult Sunday School classes at 9:30 am. The class is usually working on a book study that can be anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks long. Please contact the church office for information on the current and/or upcoming study. Newcomers are always welcome!
The Care Group coordinators schedule All Church Events, also called A.C.E. Events, 3-4 times per year. They consist of a meal, fellowship and entertainment. It's always a good time!
Our program aims to nurture, reach out to the community and educate through ministries and worship. The care groups, referred to as "Shepherd Groups" by some churches, are groups of 16 to 18 people who meet at least six times a year for fellowship. Our care groups schedule activities, such as family events, dining out and attending plays, concerts and sporting events. Our purpose is to get to know one another and care for each other. The composition of each group changes every year so we get to know a lot of people in our congregation.
On the grounds is a Memorial Garden with niches for urns containing ashes of the deceased. Only church members may be interred in the Columbarium, but anyone may have a plaque on the Memorial Walls. The Columbarium is located in the wooded area behind the church.
We have a team of volunteers who keep in touch with members who are home-bound, hospitalized, have suffered the loss of a loved one, or other catastrophic event through phone calls, cards, one-on-one visits, and/or outings.

The HUMMERS, an acronym for Highlands United Methodist Men, are purposed to be A Christian brotherhood serving our church and community. Every man of Highlands Church is a HUMMER. The HUMMERS serve and support over a dozen charities and organizations annually, both locally and nationally, with a physical and/or financial presence... or both. The HUMMERS meet at 7:45 AM on the first Tuesday of every month for a breakfast meeting that includes a devotional message, an informative guest speaker, and a planning/business session.
The entire program and organization of Highlands United Methodist Women (HUMW) focuses on missions. All women members of Highlands Church and their guests are welcome. Continental breakfast meetings are at 9:30 am on the second Monday of each month in the church's Fellowship Hall. The HUMW offers reading programs, book clubs, golfing leagues and regular outings and events.
Our church offers multiple libraries full of wonderful collections of books, audio books and movies. The Library Annex contains Christian devotional materials, non-fiction inspirational books, audio books, DVD movies; including children’s movies, fiction paperbacks, and the United Methodist Women’s (UMW) collection. Meanwhile, another Library room contains hardback fiction and Christian fiction books. Both of these libraries are located in the narthex area of the Sanctuary.
Highlands has a group of ladies who assists the Care Groups with preparing and/or serving refreshments following a funeral service or memorial service, if needed.
The Stitchers meet from 1:00-3:00 pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Everyone is welcome to join in while the group gets together to stitch, crochet or knit and enjoy some fellowship. Patterns (crochet or knit) are available for the Prayer Shawls and/or the Prayer Squares for any participant that would like to contribute to those ministries.
